Mooiplaas - Bush Vines Chenin Blanc 2023 - Stellenbosch WO - 75cl

TASTING NOTES: 

The grapes come from 32-year-old vines and are harvested late with botrytis. The wine is aged 'sur lie', meaning it ages on the lees for a long time. This gives it the special complexity, creaminess, and fullness that makes it almost seem like it was aged in oak barrels.

In the first aroma, it is slightly vegetal, coal-like, and reductive, then opening up with lavish scents of sweet honeydew melon and persimmon, later also roasted almonds and a hint of caramel. On the palate, it is soft and full-bodied, then lively with a beautiful fresh fruit acidity.
